Yesterday night I got to watch StarTrek again, It is one of my favorite film, I watched it for the first time at Scotia Bank Theater in Vancouver. I went with my friends to watch movie first show. By now I have seen this movie countless times, I am fan of StartTrek (the original series), Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica too.

From the moment the movie begins, so does the action and it never lets up. However, this movie has more than just incredible and intense action, it also pays homage to the series of old. Sure, they wanted to bring us a Trek for the 21st century, but they also realized that they needed to respect the source material and fans of a series that has been around more than 40 years. However, you don't need to know much about Star Trek to enjoy this movie. Each character has been given a background and history that lets you know a little something about each one. There's a lot to be told in an origin movie and it is handled deftly by both the writers and the director.

The Visual Effects are excellent except for too many lens flare effect, which I don't understand why it was their may be they are trying to hide mistakes.

The only snag i found in the movie is how someone can travel through black hole, I understand black wholes are supposed to be the most powerful things out in space from which into which even light gets pulled away.  And their JJ Abram's Star Trek blew up the candle by bring Spock and Romulans travel through the black hole.

Second most disappointing thing was the Fictitious Red Matter:
Oh my God, I can see them sitting around a table saying, "Well, we can't use anti-matter, they'd never believe that one, and maybe even Dark Matter would be laughed at today, if we tried to use it as we intend... I'VE GOT IT! We'll call it RED MATTER! No one's EVER used that one! So we can carry a big blob of it around, extract a drop with a HYPODERMIC NEEDLE, and STILL use it to cause a Singularity and a subsequent Black Hole! Yeah, THAT'S plausible, without us ever having to explain anything! Brilliant!" I suspect that the only Star Trek these geniuses ever watched was the much maligned 'Alternative Factor' episode. This 'plot device' (this was so bad, even Clarke's Third Law can not provide cover for it) is totally unbelievable, even when compared to a warp driven star ship.

Enough for the laughs, the red matters comes into action for short times though the story , seems to be fast (specially if you have seen the original Startrek series) though the action keeps you intact with the seats till the end.

One of my favorite scene is when Spocks sees another Vulcan thinking as if his father and calls him Dad, and in reply The other Vulcan who is also Spock from Future of alternate reality says I am not our father. Unfortunately we are left so few that I cannot ignore other Vulcan.

After Nero(Romulan) destroyed the whole planet of Vulcans very few survived and they are considered to be endangered species.

I hope you too sit back and watch the movie. Space is the next frontier.

I watched this movie today with the noon meal, I was late for the lunch and had a sci-fi movie not seen yet list collections. So I decided to watch this movie.

Out of all the films being released in 2012, Iron Sky is probably one of the most fun films to be a part of the list.

When Nazis build a giant space station on the Moon after the final days of World War II, they await for the day when the Fourth Reich can return to Earth and try to conquer it again.

The movie from the name and the trailer sounded much like a sci-fi you get to see, but this is different in terms the story which has more emphasis. Yes, it does seem a bit pro-Nazi, but when you watch the film it does the greatest job at making fun of Nazis. The script is absolutely cheesy, the visual effects are astonishing, and the action is non-stop.

With much of the humor coming not from the moon Nazis but instead from jibes about various nations especially America and its president, played rather wonderfully by (Stephanie Paul) who does a fantastic Sarah Palin impression. However, what really took my eyes of is the actor Julie Dietze(Renate). From the beginning to the end, it felt like she was meant for the role and no one can do better how well she did.

Yesterday I watched the movie Darkest Hour for second time, not that I loved it but just because I had nothing else to do and my brother haven't seen the movie and he really want to to see the invisible aliens that invades earth to get minerals.

A group of 5 young people survive an Alien invasion in Moscow and try to find other survivors and a way home. 


After having their new computer software stolen in an under hand business deal, 2 software designers are left to drown their sorrows on their business trip to Moscow. After hooking up with 2 American girls in a trendy club, they experience a blackout and all of the electrical devices lose power. They venture outside and witness beautiful amber lights floating gently towards the gorund. As they land, the lights disappear, but upon investigation by a policeman, the lights turn out to be hostile alien life forms and the policeman combusts on contact.

What follows is probably the worst acting and storylines I have encountered in a long time! None of the characters we meet during their agonising trip to eventually try and escape in a Nuclear Submarine, are believable or endeering. We don't care that some of the main protagonists die, in fact when one of the lead girls is sent to meet her firey maker I actually whispered to myself 'thank God for that'.

It was good movie, the main hero has showed some brains but the invisidle aliens is hard to see when they shields down. 

I watched 2012 yesterday night again!

Somehow, 2012 is quite a popular movie. I wanted to watch this movie again as I have only watched it once before and it has got really crazy visual effects and I enjoy the action of falling skyscrapers and crazy camera angles.

I don’t like the plot of the story though, it seems far too predictable – always a happy ending, and good luck seems to befall the characters far too many times until it becomes unbelievable. And, while I like the thrill of watching skyscrapers fall and the panoramic view of destruction as seen from an aerial view, what I do not like is the overusage of Computer Graphics (CG) which hyped the movie far too much till it seems too far-fetched.

But this was one movie which subtly makes one think about today’s society and the issues it is facing. The movie quotes are good.

Also, the movie took on the perspective and personas of many different people of distinct nationalities, culture and language and the sensitivity which it had taken in portraying their emotions and the meaning the producers wanted to bring across in the movie was enlightening. Also, what I loved about the movie is the global perspective it had taken in addressing this issue of an apocalypse. From the White House to The Vatican, The Himalayas to a traditional house in Japan, from Times Square to The Louvre in Paris and many more, it gave an intriguing view into happenings around the world on a global scale.
