Anti-aliasing
How does anti-aliasing fool the eye?
Anti-Aliasing slow down frame rates
power left to render the scene.
What is FSAA?
entire screen not just a certain image. When playing a game with FSAA turned on the graphics card will run an Anti-Aliasing algorithm on every frame from top to bottom
removing jagged edges from the entire scene. This can have a large hit on performance in games and has only been overcome recently by having much more powerful graphics
cards on the market.
Alpha channels
White acts as the selected area; black acts as the protected area. The level of gray in between determines the level of exposure. For example, 50 percent gray allows for 50
percent exposure. Alpha channels are basically specialized selection processes.A photoshop file can have 24 channels. Some of the channels will be used by the color space. For example, RGB will take up three channels (red, green, and blue), leaving 21 channels that can be used as alpha channels.
